Amy F. advocates for coworkers to bike – #bikespiration

For Colorado Bike Month, Smart Commute is sharing short inspirations from real people about why they bike to work now, or why they biked to work at a previous position.

Today’s bike-spiration is from Amy F. who is with Tri-State Generation and Transmission, and biked a very long commute a few times last year.

“I rode to work a few times in 2016, 26 miles each way. It felt great! However, a regular bike commute is too dangerous for me, as there are no routes with a bike lane, often not even a shoulder and very limited rec path access. But I am an advocate for my company’s riding group and encourage others as much as I can, to bike where ever they can!”

Amy crafted an excellent bike-haiku (bi-ku!) to share:

I ride the shoulder
Rolling hills and morning sun
Arriving refreshed
