For Colorado Bike Month, Smart Commute is sharing short inspirations from real people about why they bike to work now, or why they biked to work at a previous position.

Today’s bike-spiration is from Jodelle O. who is retired, but fondly remembers biking to work in college.

“When I was in college in Minneapolis it was just far easier to have a bike considering space, cost, parking, and insurance. The most notable consideration for me though, was the difficulty (and sometimes danger) in making driving and navigational decisions quickly in a city I was unfamiliar in. Biking through that city gave me the time and the ability to learn and enjoy and find the nooks and crannies that I otherwise would have passed by in my car.”
