Mallorie M. bikes her son to daycare – #bikespiration

For Colorado Bike Month, Smart Commute is sharing short inspirations from real people about why they bike to work now, or why they biked to work at a previous position.

Today’s final bike-spiration is from Mallorie M. who is with St. Anthony North Health Campus, and bought a bike trailer in order to bike her son to daycare each day on her way to work.

“My biggest challenge: I have a 2 year old, so we had to think outside the box about getting him to and from daycare. Because this was all new, we didn’t want to spend a lot of money for something that might not work out; so we searched on Craigslist for a bike trailer. It’s been a year now and we’re still using the second hand trailer — he loves it, loading into the trailer is now just part of our routine.”

Mallorie crafted an excellent bike-haiku (bi-ku!) to share:

People think I’m nuts
But biking to work is fun
And great exercise
