Shout Out from Melissa M

Melissa works for Amazon DEN3 in Thornton. During the months of May and June, through a partnership with the Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council, Melissa received several Uber Vouchers, allowing her to continue getting to work while RTD’s services were limited under the COVID service plan.  Melissa shares her experience below, and the support she received due to the 144th and Wagon Road FlexRide and it’s program manager, Jeanne.

My stress and worry went away knowing I was going to have a reliable ride to work and not have to use my whole check for transportation.

I am Melissa M from Brighton and I work at DEN3.

I was so grateful for the Uber vouchers! My car’s engine went out so I was without a car for two weeks. I looked into the bus system but because of a lot of bus stops being closed, it was gonna be a journey just to get back and forth to work. I saw flyer at work and called and was so grateful that Jeanne messaged me back and helped me out with Uber Vouchers. My stress and worry went away knowing I was going to have a reliable ride to work and not have to use my whole check for transportation. The voucher program was a great help because the cost is around $25 one way and going to work 4 days a week it adds up.

I do observe a lot of associates using the FlexRide and Uber. I feel it would be great to get a discounted rate so that Associates can continue to come to work. I am even open to hearing more about pre‐tax deductions, which Jeanne has generally talked about through her outreach.
