Try RTD on May 25 | Transit Experience

On Friday, May 25, Smart Commute will partner with the RTD Citizen’s Advisory Committee to host a “Transit Experience.”  This unique experience will allow residents of the north metro area to try RTD for free in a comfortable environment, with the support of RTD expert riders and insiders.

Location:  Wagon Road Park-n-Ride (120th & Huron)
Date: Friday, May 25
Start time:  10:15 a.m.
Return time:  12:45 p.m.
Cost:  Free (cost for lunch or shopping extra, participation optional)

Participants will ride from the Wagon Road Park-n-Ride to Denver Union Station for free (cost is normally $9 round-trip).  The group will ride back to the Park-n-Ride together.  The Transit Experience is designed to be fun, and a great way to learn more about RTD.

Participants will learn:

  • How to ride RTD from a bus stop, station or Park-n-Ride;
  • How to pay for fare (cash, hard ticket, mobile ticket, MyRide) and which fare to use when (Local vs. Regional);
  • How to use trip planning tools to plan a transit route;
  • How to find and contact your RTD Board Director;
  • How to navigate Denver Union Station’s bus, rail and train depots; and
  • A look at the future platform of N-Line commuter rail, in addition to historic Denver Union Station and its amenities.

The trip will include time (an hour) at Denver Union Station to grab a bite to eat or a self-guided tour of the development in this area of downtown.  All participants will return as a group to Wagon Road Park-n-Ride.

RSVP by Friday, May 18 to reserve your free ticket.
